Asia-Pacific Society for Physical Activity

Building on success — from Newcastle 2025 to Hong Kong 2026

When ASPA’s 2025 congress in Newcastle ran smoothly on Membersites, they came straight back for Hong Kong 2026. Two conference websites — abstracts, registration, e-commerce and committee tools — on a platform we keep investing in, including an automatic abstract-book generator added along the way.

The challenge

Academic congresses are unforgiving. Abstracts, registrations, payments, committees and delegates all have to run like clockwork against a fixed date that doesn’t move — and getting it wrong in front of an international audience isn’t an option. For a volunteer-run society, that’s an enormous amount to coordinate.

ASPA needed a conference platform that could handle all of it reliably for their 2025 congress in Newcastle — and, if it worked, do it again.

Our approach

We built ASPA’s 2025 congress website for Newcastle on the Membersites conference add-on — a platform already proven the year before at ISPAH’s 2024 Paris congress — with abstract management, delegate registration, e-commerce, committee management and more than a dozen bespoke conference tools, all in one place.

It worked — and ASPA embraced it, using the conference features in earnest and giving us valuable feedback along the way. We’ve kept investing in the platform behind the scenes — spearheading an automatic abstract-book generator and a steady stream of enhancements — so every event runs a little smoother than the last.

On the back of that success, we launched their 2026 congress website for Hong Kong this April. It’s already off to a strong start on abstracts — and the platform it runs on is stronger than it was a year ago.

What we delivered

2025 congress website (Newcastle) on the Membersites conference add-on
2026 congress website (Hong Kong)
Abstract management, delegate registration and e-commerce
Committee management and 12+ bespoke conference tools
Automatic abstract-book generator
Ongoing platform enhancements between events

What I appreciated most was Tony’s openness to learning as we went. He actively sought our feedback during the conference and adapted the platform based on what we were experiencing in real time — it never felt rigid or one-directional. I’d happily work with him again, and would strongly recommend Membersites.
