Coupons let you offer discounts on your tickets \u2014 an early-bird rate, a members’ price, a code for invited speakers, or a percentage off for a partner organisation. A delegate enters the code at checkout and the discount is applied automatically. This guide walks through creating a coupon and controlling exactly how it can be used.<\/p>\n\n

Creating a coupon<\/h2>\n

From your dashboard, go to Marketing \u2192 Coupons<\/strong> and choose Add coupon<\/strong>. Give it a code<\/strong> \u2014 this is what delegates will type at checkout, so make it short and memorable, for example EARLYBIRD<\/em>, MEMBER25<\/em> or SPEAKER<\/em>. Codes aren’t case-sensitive.<\/p>\n\n

Setting the discount<\/h2>\n

Choose the discount type<\/strong> \u548c amount<\/strong>:<\/p>\n

  • Percentage discount<\/strong> \u2014 a percentage off the ticket, for example 25% for members.<\/li>
  • Fixed discount<\/strong> \u2014 a set amount off, for example \u00a350 off a Full Delegate ticket.<\/li><\/ul>\n

    For a complimentary place \u2014 an invited keynote, say \u2014 use a 100% percentage discount so the ticket comes to zero.<\/p>\n\n\n

    Controlling where it applies<\/h2>\n

    Under the coupon’s usage restrictions<\/strong> you can limit exactly what the code works on, so a discount only ever applies where you intend:<\/p>\n

    • Which tickets<\/strong> \u2014 restrict the code to specific ticket types, so (for example) a student code can’t be used on a full delegate ticket.<\/li>
    • Minimum spend<\/strong> \u2014 require a minimum order value before the code is valid.<\/li>
    • Individual use only<\/strong> \u2014 stop the code being combined with other coupons.<\/li><\/ul>\n\n

      Limiting how often it can be used<\/h2>\n

      Under usage limits<\/strong> you decide how many times a code can be redeemed:<\/p>\n

      • Total uses<\/strong> \u2014 cap the number of times the code can be used overall, ideal for a limited early-bird allocation.<\/li>
      • Uses per person<\/strong> \u2014 usually set to one, so each delegate can only redeem it once.<\/li><\/ul>\n

        For a single-use code \u2014 one specific speaker or guest \u2014 set the total uses to one.<\/p>\n\n

        Setting an expiry date<\/h2>\n

        Give the coupon an expiry date<\/strong> and it stops working automatically after that day \u2014 perfect for an early-bird deadline, so you never have to remember to switch it off. Once you’ve set everything, publish the coupon and it’s live.<\/p>\n\n

        Sharing and tracking your codes<\/h2>\n

        Share the code however suits \u2014 in your call for registration, a members’ email, or directly with a guest. To see how a code is performing, open the Coupons<\/strong> report in Analytics, which shows how many times each code has been used and how much it has discounted.<\/p>\n\n\n
